Inner Beauty!

Do not be conformed any longer to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2

I love my job. I love helping people feel better and learn to live a healthier lifestyle. With that being said, I sometimes feel that my job can also destroy women. I feel like it is my duty to properly teach what is healthy and what is not. I ran across the above scripture twice this week. I first saw it in a magazine and then in a bible study. I had about 15 minutes to my self the other day so I flipped on an old Oprah. The topic of the show was Beauty Around the World. The very next morning I was listening to Focus on the Family and their conversation was about how hard it is for women to feel beautiful. It was at that moment that I realized “beauty” is a real issue. I feel the way the world views beauty sets the bar high for women. This can cause us to feel uncomfortable in our own skin.

I believe that sometimes we fear that who we are may not be good enough. I am certain that we are all better than what we think. Of course being healthy is our duty, and healthy living should be our goal. I measure people almost on a weekly basis. I can’t tell you the amount of times I hear “I am finely to my goal weight and I don’t look like what I thought I would.” Embrace what you look like and focus on being healthy. If we can do that then the weight will come off and our pant sizes will drop. Remember eating healthy plus exercising equals a healthy lifestyle. Do not mistake that formula with starving yourself or over exercising. It is important to understand that eating healthy means taking in at least 1200 calories a day, and working out for 45 minutes to an hour most days of the week.

The next time you pick up a magazine and wish you looked like one of the latest celebrities on the cover remember that they have hairstylists, make up artists, and airbrushing that makes them look so “beautiful.” The only thing that matters is that God adores you. If you are leading an active lifestyle and being the best wife, mother, or friend you can be then you are a pleasing and perfect women.

What do you think?  I would love to hear your thoughts!

Have a great day and remember to SWEAT!!!

I agree with your article about beauty. We definitely have to embrace what we look like and focus on being healthy. The only thing that really matters is God and family. We cannot please everyone and we have to be thankful who we are and what we have. The inside beauty (like Christ) is most important than the outside beauty.
There is always going to be someone beautiful and smarter than me but I have to realize that God loves me and my family loves me the way I am.
You don’t appreciate what you have until its all gone.
Staying healthy and positive is the most important. I have to be thankful with what I have and not compare myself to others. Life is good.
Thank you for sharing this information with us. I appreciate you. Corina
