last week to Facebook and I got TONS of emails about it.

Awesome emails like:

” I just stood in front of the pantry and had a battle…tortillas or fruit.  I ran today with the kids in the stroller and have eaten clean all day.  I thought about choosing my hard and decided I want to swim with my kids this summer and not be self conscious   I want to wear shorts in 95 degree weather.  So, here I sit, eating a bowl of oranges and apples!  One day, One battle at a time!”

“I just worked out for the first time in months / years. I’m choosing my hard.”

“I’m quitting smoking and eating better. I’m choosing my hard!”

“I’ve been letting myself go for years.  It’s been hard to even find the courage to buy new cloths because I don’t fit into my old ones.  I don’t want to go up any more sizes!!  I am starting to walk/jog today!  I’m choosing my hard.”

I’m super excited to hear all these amazing comments. Please keep them coming. It makes me keep thinking of ways to inspire you to keep taking that one single step of faith at a time. You are adding fuel to my fire!!!

My friend from Silver Wings Designs made me some of these for the girls in my youth group. Aren’t they fun?!

Anyhow my advice for choosing your hard is to NOT GIVE UP no matter what. I have been in the fitness industry for almost 14 years. I hear this deadly statemented all the time…. “I’m too busy” or “This happened and now I can’t find time.”

Here’s the cold hard fact.. Yes, I’m going there! MAKE TIME!!! My family didn’t have time for cancer.

My family didn’t have time for my dad dying last year while I was dealing with cancer.

My family didn’t have time to deal with Mr. Running Holm having a stress induced heart attack, but it happened. Things happen that you have no control over but you keep going!

Choose your hard!

One hour a day or three hours a week. Get up early, stay up a little later, plan out your meals. Do something to prevent heart attacks, heart disease, or obesity. Make time for yourself.!!! So you can spend more time with your family!!

It will never be convenient.

Make time for yourselves. It is worth it. I have never had someone come up to me and say I wish i never started working out a year ago.  I feel horrible!

Choose your hard!

However, I do always hear I wish I would have started working out or stayed with it last year. I feel horrible. I have gained so much weight since then.I have let myself go.

How are you choosing your hard? Are you giving into being too busy for yourself or are you giving in to making time for yourself?

Remember:

It takes 4 weeks for you to see your body change.  It takes 8 weeks for your friends and family to see results, and 12 weeks for the rest of us to see the results!  

KEEP GOING!!!

Choose your hard. Don’t give in to ,in my opinion, one of the deadliest excuses. Either make time now or your body will make you make time later.

    Wow, I am so inspired. As I read your blog, I am sitting here nodding in agreement because I keep making excuse after excuse while having a pity party for myself…I had no clue this was you…I see you at MDO all the time and here I am reading your blog. Thank you for sharing!

    I know I can do something to better my health even if it is only walking slowly for 30 minutes each day. I wish I could go out and run, but for now, I listen to my cardiologist (and body) and need to make changes if I want to live to see my children grow. Thank you again! I need to do this for me…I really do. That will be my hard…making a promise to myself to get up and go walking each day.
