Fitness has always been a huge love of mine! To me it makes my world go round. I started running with my mom when I was four at a local track. I’m 31 and haven’t stopped. I’m the crazy mom pushing my kids in a double stroller in the heat, rain, or cold but I must say they have grown to love it!
I started personal training when I was 19 at 24 hour fitness. Eventually I started C3Fitness which later morphed into Humble Area Adventure Boot Camp . I finished at the University of Houston with a bachelors in Exercise Science.
Just a few days after turning 30 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Crazy I know but I felt a lump laying in bed one night and that’s when the whirlwind began. Since then I have had a double mastectomy, chemo, radiation, and a hysterectomy. During all this my dad passed away so it was one crazy year to say the least. Thankfully I have an amazing husband, family, and friends who helped out with everything during that time.
Even though crazy things happen I always say I’m super thankful God chose me to be the light for Him. I love that sign from Dayspring that reads “God is Good All the time.” Every time I get in a situation I’m unsure of I think of that saying. No matter what your situation God is Good All the time. We all just need to think of the positive and not the negative. I find it easier to say okay God how do you want me to use this situation for you? Sometimes I feel like just going through what He gives you with a smile is good enough for Him.
Through all this my love for nutrition grew even deeper. I have always eaten well. I just splurged a little too often. I also had little concern about the quality of food. I started doing research after starting chemo. I hated all the drugs that was being put into my body and wanted a way to feel better. Food was the trick. Now I am addicted to constantly learning and sharing new fitness and nutrition tips.
So as you can see I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a small business owner. I am a fitness expert. I wear a lot of different uniforms everyday. This blog is an opportunity for me to share my life with you and hopefully through my words, failures, victories and experiences we will learn together how to manage the chaos of life through FAITH, PATIENCE and LOVE.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Welcome to Running Holm!!!
